How To Reach Us

Ministries

Evangelism
Evangelism is not a committee -- it's a way of life!
Our mission is to share the joy of Christ's love by serving our community and supporting one another.  That's what evangelism is all about.  The appearance of our building to the neighborhood, the welcoming greeters on Sunday morning and the planning of community outreach events are all part of our evangelism efforts.

Fellowship
Part of the joy of being a member of a congregation is in the fellowship opportunities.  Join us for Sunday morning coffee and treats after services.  Lenten soup suppers and Advent pasta potlucks are also opportunities to fellowship with others in the congregation.

Outreach
The Outreach Team's mission is to reach out to others who are in need; it is faith and service working hand in hand, reaching out to all persons and enlisting the help of many members of the congregation.  The team is active in supporting blood drives, meals on wheels, local food pantries, the DuPage PADS program and the Hunger Walk.

Stewardship
As God has blessed us, both individually and as a congregation, we in turn are to be blessings to the community around us and to the world.  Good stewardship is "going green" to save the environment; it is using our resources to serve Christ and the community and it is a grateful acknowledgement of God's love and provision.
Women's Ministry
The Women of Peace meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 9:30 am for fellowship and planning of service opportunities.  Service projects include monetary support for the Navajo mission in Arizona, collections of clothing for PADS, pop-tops for Ronald McDonald House and back-to-school items for local students in need.  We have social activities as well:  game night in February, a spring luncheon, a camping weekend and December cookie exchange.  All women are welcome to any of these events.

Mens Ministry
The Men of Peace (MOPs) is a new ministry here and we are exploring lots of possibilities.  So far we have enjoyed a pig roast at the church and started a fishing club.  We also participate in service projects such as helping another congregation clean up and remodel their basement after a flood.  Once a month we meet for breakfast at a local restaurant.  All men are welcome to join us.

Youth Group
From Confirmation Camp By the Lake to providing music for worship, there are opportunities for the youth to have fun and to serve Christ.  Some of the ways we do that is by preparing and serving the Easter breakfast, baking bread for the local food pantry, Christmas caroling and chili supper and an outdoor youth service in July.  Plans are underway to attend the 2012 Youth Gathering in New Orleans.
