Their mission statement is: To look beyond ourselves and reach out to those in
Our community who need help and support.
The foundation’s four directors raise money through fund raising efforts to help families who often have serious health challenges among other needs. Theirs is a difficult process in these trying times, where many families need so very desperate help.
One of Our Own Foundation is located in Addison, Illinois and can be contacted at

Bloomingdale Township Pantry
The Township provides Emergency Assistance on a needs basis for township residents. Those who qualify may receive assistance with rent/mortgage, utilities, gas vouchers and food. Individuals can receive Emergency Assistance once in a twelve month period.
The Township and Volunteer Council also operate the “Sharing Tree” which serves the Township's needy children with gifts for Christmas.
The pantry is an asset to the Township in that it provides the General Assistance Office a donated source of food to insure that the needy do not go hungry.

CASA of DuPage County, Inc.
CASA volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates for children. Citizen volunteers are recruited, screened, trained and supported by CASA staff. Once trained, volunteer advocates are assigned to monitor a child's case resulting from a formal court order through its duration. CASA advocates voluntarily examine and investigate children's cases and report their findings to juvenile court judges. They provide information about such things as educational neglect, an inadequate foster placement, increased stress in a family situation, research about a child’s medical ailment, or a need for glasses. This knowledge serves to better inform judges who are then able to make knowledgeable and educated dispositions about each child's placement and treatment needs.
CASA of DuPage County, Inc. is located at 505 N. County Farm Road, 3rd Floor, Suite C, Wheaton, IL 60187. More information can be found on their website, or by calling 630-221-0889 x306.
